Therapy after surgery?

I have a weird history with Dupuytrens & Ledderhose's - I'm a 41 yr old female with Dupuytren's disease - two surgeries on the left hand, one on the right, and two surgeries on the left foot. This all began about 8 or 9 years ago.

On 12/15 I had surgery on my left foot, second surgery in 2.5 years, this one being much more invasive than the first. After surgery the doc told me that he cut a major nerve in my foot and I'd experience some numbness. I won't get into the gorry details, but after almost 9 weeks it feels like my toes are in a continuous cramp. I've conveyed this information to my doc and he says 'it's normal' and will 'go away in time'. I'm thinking that I need some serious physical therapy (which the doc disagrees with) to get back to anything close to normal. Has anyone had success with physical therapy after this type of surgery?

Re: Therapy after surgery?

Not being an expert on this but to me it seems to better to repair the nerve if this is still feasible. Maybe a 2nd opinion wouldn't hurt either.
