    Never used fixxglove.. I have night spints made for both hands ..made by C.H.T. I have replacements made each year.
    Long story short,my right thumb began to act up with small nodule and what may be a cord two years ago.
    The splint now includes my thumb,wear each night..seems to have stopped progression,or at least slowed it way down..

    I feel the properly made night splint is the way to go..as I have written dating back to 2009..

    Thanks for responding. I've used CHT custom made thermoplastic splints for more than a half dozen years, actually ever since I last saw Dr. Eaton in 2011.. (Since 2005, I've had NA just about every two years, even with splinting, to keep my fingers under control , I have a very aggressive case) I find the hard splints incredibly cumbersome and have never been able to keep both on all night-- and that was with just two fingers splinted on each hand. Since the most aggressive area of my DD is now my thumb web--the cords are about five times thicker than any other cord i've ever had (which did not have RT) perhaps my one course of RT *did* slow it down.

    I find the new one, just made, splinting three fingers and covering most of my palm. extremely difficult especially when awakening at night and I'm going to try the Fixxglove hoping i'll be more compliant-- perhaps Fixxglove on RH and custom on my left. I keep trying to convince my CHT to make me just a finger splint but she says it won't be effective.

    Thanks, Stef. I assume it's still working for you? My worst finger on my RH is my pinkie and this NA got it straighter than it's been in a long, long time. However, since three fingers and my thumb were involved, I think I'm going to go with the Fixxglove for my RH.

    My hand therapist gave me a compression glove today since my swelling is not completely gone and I stuck a couple tongue depressors in and seems like they might work. I'm excited about this concept because on my LH, it's my index, middle and thumb involved and I think I might be able to get away with just two popsicle stick splints once they're straightened. (We'll see once the get the Fixxglove for my RH how comfortable is is) Definitely don't work now as fingers are too bent but I don't like thinking about the five fingered Fixxglove just for two fingers.

    Hi Diane. I continue using my homemade glove because my finger stays almost straight and the glove doesn't bother me. It is possible that radiation therapy has stopped it but I prefer not to take the risk to confirm. With several fingers I imagine a Fixxglove is more practical. Good luck!

    Can you tell me the dimensions of your "popsicle stick"--an also the brand? (Sorry if that sounds silly) I have tongue depressors and either need to cut them down or find a stick like yours. thanks.

    I use the sticks from Magnum ice-cream (comes in different flavors...). I stuck with the first one I ever tried since it worked for the size of my finger and hand and just put it in the dish washer from time to time although by now I have a dozen of them saved up. They are about 9.5 cm long (3.7 inches).

    I have used various cycling gloves I had anyway, some tighter than others. They all worked. Especially in the beginning you may want to use one that is as comfortable as possible so you get used to it. If the stick has rounded ends and can move around a little, that helps. Good luck!
