more questions than answers

2 weeks ago I visited a new pod about my feet-- I have bilateral LD and have not found a good doc until now. It has been nearly a year since I noticed the first lump in my foot. The lump became very painful and sent me seeking help. Finally a year later a pod that looked at my feet and then he did something I wasn't expecting--he looked at my hands. Right away he noticed something in my hand and advised me to watch the hands carefully due to the link between LD and DC.

I can feel a lump and the beginning of a cord. I guess the question is If there is no cure and no real treatments--What is the purpose of going to a doctor?

Re: more questions than answers

Hi, welcome to the forum! You can find a lot of experience and recommendations here, and a lot of knowledgable patients, too. If you have speific questions you can search the forum (left menu) and most likely find according posts.

True, Dupuytren's/Ledderhose cannot be cured, but there is a fairly broad range of treatment options to keep or regain hand function or reduce foot pain. This web site hosts a lot of information beyond this forum. I would suggest to have a look at the above menu, starting with Disease and then read on specific Treatments. Or you can start with reading "Personal experiences" (left menu or under Patients:Personal experiences). In any case, there is a lot of options available and your doctor can help selecting the best one for you.

If you have question feel free to ask them here in the forum. It's a quite active forum and I am sure you will get answers.

Wolfgang
