Re: Had Surgery Today

UPDATE FROM 6 WEEKS AFTER SURGERY

I realize today is 8 weeks, but I've been having difficulties getting on this site, so the photos are from 6 weeks after surgery. I'm still going to hand therapy twice a week. My ring finger is 10% and that's about as good as it can get due to arthritis in my knuckle. My pinkie is 27%, but should be able to go to 20%, again the limitation is the knuckle. I wear the splint for my pinkie at night and as often as possible during the day. I also wear silicone patches on my pinkie and palm.

My hand was very sensitive about 4 weeks ago. It is still sensitive, but much better.

For those of you who have had the surgery, how long did you go for hand therapy?

Thanks.

Re: Had Surgery Today

I’m still going to hand therapy 2 times a week and wearing hand splint. I’ll see the doctor later this week for a follow up visit. Hand does not lie flat, but it’s functional. I’m playing Pickleball and table tennis several times a week. Sensivity in hand is almost normal. Still have some scar tissue in little finger that I’m working on with a small tip massager and using ultrasound at therapists office.
