Pain and Dupuytrens

Can anyone give me any direction concerning pain and dupuytrens? My fingers are not contracted but I have nodules in the palms, under the ring fingers of each hand. they are causing much discomfort and pain. My doctor has advised me to see a hand surgeon and inquire about steroid shots. Thanks for any input

Re: Pain and Dupuytrens

Some Drs will give a steroid (triamcinolone) into inflamed sore nodules, and there may be some temporary relief. It doesn’t seem to help everyone. You can try yourself hot or cold soaks, or topical pain patches such as SalonPas or topical NSAIDs. I find gentle massage in really hot water helps me, but ymmv. None of these typically help with stopping progression. You should see a Dr anyway to ensure the pain is not associated with other conditions.

Re: Pain and Dupuytrens

Thank you Buddha.

I am looking forward to working with the hand surgeon on this. The pain is a needling like pain that can be constant.

I will take your advice about gentle massage and warm water in the bath or spa as well.
