Re: NA experience by Australian Users

Thanks for the info The total cost when you know would also be benificial to other patients. I believe Dr Griffin and Porter work in the public sector at Flinders. Do they use the term NA or PNF?

I quote from flinders private hospital directory "Dr. Griffin, Phillip Specialty: Plastic Surgery
Sub Specialty: Hand / Micro-surgery". Who should he contact to be listed on this website? And how? I will be seeing him again in late July

Re: NA experience by Australian Users

He could write us an email to society /at dupuytren-online .info or, if we have his email address, we can contact him. We would need his personal email address, not the general one of the clinic. To our experience writing to general email addresses of clinics is most likely useless.

Re: NA experience by Australian Users

Hi, I was one of the patients who too part in the trial of NA done by Dr Potter at Flinders Medical Hospital. I don't know when the paper will be presented. I understand Dr Griffin has a private practice. I may have to see him for a follow up if he will see me.

I emailed Pfizer Australia concerning the release of Xiaflex here to treat Dup. Their info was that they had none to give me. In other words no comment. I can't figure out if this means it is Pfizer or the Aust. Therapeutic Drug Authority who are stopping release?

It is frustrating. Seeya Hamish

Re: NA experience by Australian Users

Hamish; I'm a new user of this forum. prior to seeing your post I didn't realize that Flinders are still at the trial stage.

I have been looking for a specialist with experience in NA in this part of the world but I am getting the feeling that Australian surgeons think this is still some sort of experimental procedure. It is not. NA has been around for 15 years.

By way of background I have had Dupuytrens in both hands for 30 years. I had conventional surgery on one hand 15 years ago with mixed results. Since then I have been to Dr Badois in Paris on two occasions. 20 minutes for each hand but 4 days apart. No fuss and an excellent result.

Not a cure though. Just as a visit to the dentist does not mean your teeth are fixed for life. You have to keep going back but done properly NA is painless and a lot less bother than most dental procedures.

I think I will head back t0 Paris later this year and forget about looking for someone down here.

Hi guys

If you look at the treatment options on the site you get a drop down menu.....this will offer you NA......and then a list of other countries......we have 2 options listed on the site in Ozzie for NA......I hope this may help you.....

Good luck

Re: NA experience by Australian Users

Hi Seph, I think the research on patients at Flinders Hospital has been finished. However, when the paper is completed & presented I don't know.

Gazza is right about the 2 surgeons in Australia willing to do NA. There are links to others who have seen them. We are yet to have surgeons with the experience of the French & Dr Eaton. It will happen.
