Post Traumatic Neuropathy
Well it is now 6 months since the operation to my hand ,and I am still not back at work, and right hand still is not functional.Having been for a second opinion yesterday, and was told by the consultant that what I have developed was Post Traumatic Neuropathy Stress, which he said happens very rarely,in fact so rarely,he does not warn patients of it as a risk factor.Has anyone here been through this too?

Post Traumatic Neuropathy
It's a rare effect of surgery and also radiotherapy. You might have a look at http://www.coventrypainclinic.org.uk/ner...cneuropathy.htm
and then take it from there.
What you describe might also possibly be somewhat related with "Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome (RSD) - also known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) - is a chronic neurological syndrome characterized by:
- severe burning pain - pathological changes in bone and skin - excessive sweating - tissue swelling - extreme sensitivity to touch" (from http://www.rsds.org/)
