Hi All - I'm new to this forum and it looks great. Wish I had found it sooner! I'm scheduled for a Needle Aponevrotomy procedure on my left hand this Wednesday and a little nervous... My history is below for those interested, but my question is:

What is the possibility of nerve damage? My doctor says that nerve damage is more of a possibility in surgery than in the NA procedure. Can anyone respond to this or point me to a post that talks about that? Are there other problems with this procedure I should be aware of? Anyone with a bad experience?

HISTORY
I'm scheduled for a Needle Aponevrotomy procedure on my left hand this Wednesday. I'm a little nervous about it, but the doctor seems to have a lot of experience doing the procedure. Also, he trained with the doctor in Paris that started this procedure, and is one of a handful that does the procedure regularly here in the U.S. (I won't mention names, not sure if that is allowed, but I am in New Jersey).

I previously had surgery on my right hand about 10 years ago. I did not get full extension back, but it seems to have arrested the development of the disease, which is unlike what others have written here. I am hopeful that this procedure will help as the disease seems worse in my left hand.

I will report back after the procedure for those thinking about it.

Thanks Joon! Always good to hear positive reports. I've found some other posts about Dr. Pess and they all seem very positive. I'm still nervous about the procedure (I watched it on YouTube and it looks a bit disturbing) but feel more hopeful at this point.
