Frightened of surgery
Hi I'm new to the site so please bear with me! I have been looking for a magic solution to Dupuytren's contracture, being too far gone for radio therapy and terrified by stories of the surgical remedies. I came across http://dupuytrens-contracture.com Has anyone tried it and if so, with what results?

Re: Frightened of surgery
Why are you "terrified by stories of the surgical remedies"?

Re: Frightened of surgery
Hi again, Surgery is still an option . Many have one surgery and never see a surgeon again. Age is an important factor. The unfortunate fact is that, the younger the patient is so is the increase risk of further surgery. We are all different. Sometimes Dupuytrens remains dormant for years.

Re: Frightened of surgery
Eeek!
Don't touch this 'natural, herbal, whatever' cure with a bargepole.
We've been researching Dupuytren's treatment for the British Dupuytren's Society, and I can honestly say that we've found no evidence at all of it working.
Have you considered Xiapex/Xiaflex?
It's pretty good (not perfect, but nothing is).
It's a drug that's injected into the hand that dissolves Dupuytren's tissue. Expensive (but cheaper than some forms of surgery), but there are lots of good results from it.

Re: Frightened of surgery
Thank you for your responses. Not quite what I was looking for though. Has anyone tried the site's therapy and if so, what were the results? Regards Exlecky

Re: Frightened of surgery
Exlecky, I had NA/Needle Aponeurotomy and RT/radiation therapy. Both were effective for the state of my Dupuytren's disease at the time. Have you looked under the tabs across the top of the page? The drop down menu for "Disease" and also "Treatment" would be good for finding out lots of information.
