when to get rt
I UNDERSTAND EARLY IS THE BEST OUTCOME WITH RT FOR DD. MINE HAS BEEN PROGRESSING FOR 3 YEARS. HOW DO YOU DETERMINE ACTIVE STAGE? MINE DOSENT ITCH. I DO HAVE A LITTLE CONTRACTURE IN PINKY AND MIDDLE FINGER AT BASE. KNUCKLES ARE BIGGER THAN THEY USE TO BE. IM SO SCARED, SURGERY WAS NOT A GREAT OPTION FOR OTHER HAND.

There's usually signs and symptoms of current activity, such as aching, soreness, itching, pins and needles, quite rapid physical changes in the skin and development of nodules over the last few months. Sometimes this activity and progression is going on in the background, so quite slowly - perhaps like yours, and sometimes quite quickly in weeks or a couple of months. A radiologist with experience of treating DD will probably examine you and take into account other factors to decide whether the time is right.
There are alternatives to surgery such and NA or Xiaflex for treating contracture in the lesser stages. These are usually well tolerated, although recurrence is a possibility (just like surgery), and can often be repeated.
