A year or so ago I was diagnosed with DC after a nodule and cord were found under my ring finger on my right hand. I recently discovered a new nodule growing under my thumb on my left hand. Is this common with DC? I've read literature that stated that the nodules almost always started under the ring finger and rarely the thumb. Another fun aspect of this disease is that my hands ache like a SOB.

Common? There are certain patterns that seem to occur more often, like the ring and pinkie being effected. However, Dups is like a box of chocolates. I've got a lump and chord at the base of my left thumb, but it's never been active. Not even surgery on that hand caused it to flare. It's like an extinct volcano just sitting there.....Shhhhhh. However, a friend of mine had surgery for ring, pinkie **and** thumb. I have come to the conclusion that pain is correlated to the rapid spread of Dups tissue. It can be aggressive without pain, but if you have pain, it's probably doing it's thing.

and read "FLARES". You will quickly learn the reason why you have such an aggressive case of Dupuytren's.

In addition; you shouldn't mess with surgery for nodules, only contracture and then only with the NA procedure.

If it's really happening that fast, I think it's probably not Dupuytren's.
