Dr. Kelly Norcross (913.648.4422) cured my DC non-surgically.

"Dr. Kelly Norcross (913.648.4422) cured my DC non-surgically." How was that done. Is he/she in the US?

non-surgical help for Dupuyten

I get a massage once a week and this has minimized the pain and the contracture from Dupuytren. Also a hand vibrator may be of use for keeping the muscle tissues loose and flexible. It's worth a try. So far I have the syndrome but I have flexibility. See what happens

non-surgical treatment for dupuytren~sq~s

I agree massage is very effective in treating this condition. I massage my hands nightly with a little oil, and also stretch them with yoga and other excercises. A osteopath also told me about massaging with vitamin e and dmso, but I haven't tried it yet.

alternate treatment

I have Dupuytren's disease in both hands. I live in San Jose. I took my first yoga class at a Yogiraj Bikram Choudhury yoga teacher recently. They heat the room to 103 and we do all kinds of stretching. After I warmed up my bent fingers got loose and they straightened out. Yoga is a great non-surgical way to help Dupuytren's.

anticonvulsants

I'm getting tired of this spam about the yogi. Almost every post is identical.

anticonvulsants

Bikram is a well known fraud. If you go through earlier postings you can see where I've pasted links and articles exposing this charlatan.

anticonvulsants

I have been taking topomax for my migraines. Now I am 55 and I have been diagnosed with Dups. Have any of you been taking that drug -unrelated to epilepsy.

Thanks.

Dutuytren~sq~s needle aponevrotomy in Canada??

I would be very interested in knowing whether or not the non-surgical procedure (needle aponevrotomy) is done in Canada. If so: where and by whom?

Non-surgical help for Dupuytren~sq~s

I have Dupuytren's in four fingers at varying stages, and tried a) conventional surgery, b) radiotherapy and c) ultrasound together with massage. The 'oldest' nodule in the left small finger (now about 15 years since I first noticed it), had surgery 6 years ago and is now deteriorating again. I had radiotherapy on the second left index finger (also 15 years old nodule) 6 years ago, this certainly reduced the size of the nodule, but only for about 3 years, it is now deteriorating again and the finger is getting to the stage where it needs further treatment. The third finger (right ring finger) started 6 years ago, this has been treated with ultrasound followed by massage 2-5 times a week. This also softened and reduced the size of the nodule for a few years, and the finger is still straight. I have the feeling that radiotherapy, ultrasound and massage all contribute to slowing down the disease process, but can't avoid it completely.
I also find it useful to forcibly straighten all the finger joints at least once a day, to avoid the permanent stiffening which is almost impossible to reverse, even after surgery.
