I was not drawing any conclusions, as I said previously, it was only put out as something a person could check out if they wanted. It is consistent with many other studies, however. No "agenda" here. Ignore the information if you wish.

Well, here's an 'abstract' of what I've been reading on this message board, and the Peyronie's board, for the last 4 years: Many, many people have tried Vitamin E - pills, oil, cream, high-gamma, d-alpha, 800/1200 IU - and either it doesn't work, or the people for whom it does work stop posting and never tell us about it.
I've been popping 88 IU of high-gamma E every day for a few months, and my DC continues its slow, steady progression.

just diagnosed with Dupuytrens Disease
A year ago I had a fall from my bike, resulting in a scaphoid fracture. When the cast was was removed at 6 weeks, my little finger was bent towards my ring finger - the nurse told me it was due to the cast being applied too far down my fingers. In all the cast was worn for 3 months, in order to heal the fracture. During this time I contracted Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, and went through hell for 6 months, and the pain then gradually subsided. During this time the little finger was curving down towards my palm, and when I asked the physiotherapist if it would be possible to splint the finger, he told me not to worry, it would eventually be ok with exercise. Today I went to see a hand surgeon, and he tells me I have this disease and it was nothing to do with the cast. I have the hard nodules on the affected hand (since the removal of the cast), but I do also have them on my other hand, they have been there for some time.
Does anyone else have any comments - or similar experiences?

Mel,
If you read up on DP, you will see (anecdotal) evidence that injuries can (will?) activate a latently present Dupuytren.
On this forum, you can find a lot of information, even if some is a 'little bit' biased.
