Answer
some questions...

i'm a 27 yo male with Dupuytren's Disease. i have it in my small finger on my right hand as well as i have it in my feet. i've had it in my feet for many years. anyway, i have surgery scheduled, and have recently learned about this NA procedure. i've looked at before and after pics of the patients from the dr. in jupiter, fl. office.

my question to you all is this. i finger is contracting, but also i have very hard lumps between my first knuckle and and hand, as well as in the hand itself. in the pictures that i saw of people before they had the surgery, none of them appeared to have the bumps like i have. would this procedure be useful to myself?

also is there any other younger person to have this disease out there, and have the surgery or na procedure? how soon if at all did contracture return?

any info. you can provide before i have surgery is greatly appreciated. thank you all.

Answer
NA

Ryan:

Lumps and Bumps are a normal part of the disease. The best way to determine if you are a candidate for NA is to send pictures to Eaton. He will tell you at no charge. Age has no bearing on initial outcome of treatment. Unfortunately the younger you are when Dups shows up, the more likely it will return after both surgery or NA.

Do your homework. Read everything you can before submitting to surgery. This might help:

Answer
NA

Ryan,
I would say, go to Dr. Eaton and let him decide which procedure would be best. He might say surgery or he might say NA. I had surgery. I also had the hard tissue (DD) on the underside of my finger plus the cord with 85 degrees contracture. After two years, my finger is still at 0 degrees and you would never know I had DD. Everyone does not have as good results. Just like NA, there are different degrees of success.
Good luck

Answer
28 y.o.

Well, I am a 28 y.o. male. From what I have heard there are a few of us youngin's out here. So far just a nodule under my middle finger, I am actually getting a Kenalog injection (triamcinolone) on wednesday. It is a glucocorticoid steriod. In one study it reduced the nodules in 98% of patients. You have to be early stage with no contraction. I let you know how it goes, maybe thats on option combined with NA. Anybody else have anything to add, I am pretty much a rookie. You can email about the injections if you wish. C
