L-Cystiene Vs NAC
Does anyone know whether pure L-Cystiene has the same effect as the N-Acetyl L Carnitine. I cannot source NAC in Australia, a local supplier tells me that L-Cystiene will have exactly the same health benefits as NAC as L-Cystiene does not require the Acetyl component to cross the blood brain barrier |

Re: L-Cystiene Vs NAC
I would be surprised if you couldn't get NAC in Australia. It ought to be available in pharmacies. In the US it is even sold as nutritional add-on in drugstores. You might have a look at

Re: L-Cystiene Vs NAC
What is suggested dosage for N ACETYL CARNITINE, and how long should it take for evidence of it's effect to be noticed? Is it working for advanced cases? My boyfriend has had surgery(7years ago) & NA (2years) and the condition is progressing again. Has anyone noticed any correlation between sugar consumption and disease progress? I notice that glucosamine aggravates it, what about just glucose? |

Re: L-Cystiene Vs NAC
Eileen, some time ago some people tried acetyl-l-carnitine. SuzieQ collected results but she doesn't post much anymore and I don't recall results. Probably they weren't as good as people hoped because otherwise I am sure someone would have posted it. But that's only speculation. You might have a look at below post

Re: L-Cystiene Vs NAC
Eileen, in the mean time I asked SuzieQ about any results regarding ALC. Obviously the old feedback mails got lost but she wrote "What I recall is that the results were not promising. Only one or two people reported positive results and those were in combination with colcichine or other therapies, so totally inconclusive." Still, whatever the outcome of your personal trial is, please post it!

Re: L-Cystiene Vs NAC
I was diagnosed with Gluten Sensivity 3 years ago about the same time that my Dupuytren's became aggressive. Is it probable to assume that the absorption issues related to gluten's caused the disease to grow more rapidly? Do you think its possible to control the disease through diet? Just hoping. |

Radiation Therapy
I have just had my second radiation treatment at St. Vincent's Hospital in NYC by Dr. Rescigno. So far so good with no side effects. The entire procedure takes less than 5 minutes for them to set up your hand and administer the dosage. The center is unbelievable nice and friendly. On both occassions I had arrived an hour before my appointment and I was treated immediately. For those interested in pursuing radiation I highly recommend this center. |
