I was just diagnosed yesterday. I am reading like crazy to find out about this disease. I keep reading that in the early stages radiation works. Can anyone put in the direction that I need to go to find out more on that. I am assuming I am in the early stages, my figures and hand have not restricted.

I was diagnosed with DD about six months ago when I noticed a small lump under my ring finger, but a month ago I realised the lump had grown quite large and painful and another lump, equally large had appeared under my index finger. In the last week my fingers have started to bend slightly and are extremely painful. I am in the UK and my doctor says I shouldn't worry as I can have an operation to straighten my fingers when they are completely bent over!
I have just come across your site and I'm now panicking like crazy - I am wondering if I can get to Germany to have the radiation therapy. I have emailed the doctor at the research institute in Essen, but he hasn't replied yet.
Can any one tell me how much this treatment will cost and how quickly I could get an appt to see him. Do you get a consultation first, does he ever turn anyone down? Should I be thinking of going to France first to have NA to correct the fingers and how do I choose who to go and see?
