Therapy with NAC / ACC
Recently clinical tests started using NAC, a low cost drug with very little side effects, for treating Dupuytren and Ledderhose. Firts results look good, for more info have a look at

I had some thoughts, what about this?
'And we know of a case where a patient had surgery on a single finger and then experienced within a couple of months after the surgery an outbreak of Dupuytren on six other locations, including the other (not operated upon) hand. Possibly Dupuytren already existed there in a hidden, dormant form and was triggered by the healing process.'

- Does the NAC/ACC do something with the 'hidden, dormant form', are only on the things were the disease already exists?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, i had only some thoughts ...
- Any idea what the little side effects of the NAC/ACC are?

ACC side effects
Have you googled ACC and side effects? I found on http://www.intekom.com/pharm/hexal/acc200.html
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to N-acetylcysteine.
Safety in pregnancy has not been established.
WARNINGS:
N-acetylcysteine should be used with caution in asthmatic patients and since mucolytics may disrupt the gastric mucosal barrier, it should be used with caution in patients with a history of peptic ulceration.
SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Adverse effects include bronchospasm, nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, rhinorrhoea, headache, tinnitus, urticaria, chills and fever. Anaphylaxis has less frequently been reported.

Dupuytren Society in cooperation with Dr. Charles Eaton started to collect experience that people have/had who take NAC. We are interested in any effect on Dupuytren and Ledderhose when NAC is taken for a longer period of time, e.g. several months. There is no clinic experience with it yet. One of the things that needs clarification is the dosage. Currently the recommended daily dosage is in Germany 600 mg (but für treating other diseases), in the US I believe the range is 600 mg - 1,800 mg per day. Ypu probably would need to take it for a couple of months or longer (3 - 6?).
Please note that we do not encourage or discourage anybody from taking NAC. We just don't know whether it helps against Dupuytren. But that's why we are curious about any observations.

Therapy with NAC / ACC - data collection completed
Over a period of six months we have been collecting reports from patients who are taking NAC. We now published our results on http://www.dupuytren-online.info/researc..._dupuytren.html and would like to thank all patients who shared their experience with us!

NAC / ACC TOPICAL (i.e. cream)
Instead of pills is it possibile to assume NAC as topical (trandermal) form?
If yes the side effects sould be almost ZERO!
