DC in Left hand for 5 years - now gone in 45 minutes.

I researched this site and others for the last 5 years trying to decide what to do about it. After talking to a surgeon, then reading and seeing surgical horror stories, I decided to go to France and "go for it". By this time I had a 63% contracture of little finger complete with bump at base of finger, with attached cord down the
palm. I flew to Paris by myself from St.Louis on Continental ($422) stayed at the Nord Hotel in Paris across from Nord Train Station for $71/night. I took a train to Montmercy from Paris (3$-20 Minutes), and a taxi to the clinic (4$-5 minutes). I walked in for a 2:30 appointment and walked out 45 minutes later with a 100% straight finger that I haven't seen in 4 years for $180. I flew back to St. Louis the next morning and went back to work that afternoon. The procedure was similiar to a tooth root canal in terms of time and pain - virtually none! To my surprise there was no bleeding, no before or after pain, no thereapy needed, no recovery time, no scars, no loss of feeling, and especially no BFD. It was just like the clock was turned back 5 years at a time when I had never heard of this crap. If it returns, then so be it, and so will I - only this time without hesitation or apprehension. Thank God for the internet - lest we never know. JIM

Been 1 week since NA

Jim,
It's refreshing to hear a success story such as yours.
For anyone who has not had previous conventional surgeries
we believe that the NA is the best procedure as has worked
for you. Hopefully others will follow your example and
have better results than some others on this forum have
experienced. Our best,
Mary Beth and Richard

Been 1 week since NA

I live in Granite City, Il, metro east area of St. Louis, MO. It has been 1 week since my NA procedure and I don't even wear a band aid. Apart from a small bruise, you would never know I ever had a condition of any kind. My sister who is a nurse, was totally against my going to France to have this done. She now says its amazing, my priest says its a miracle, -I'm just grateful! But behind it all is the Skill, Artistry, and Attention to Detail given by Dr. Badois. Up front, I knew he had done thousands of these, so I had no concern whatsoever about nerve damage, tendon slices, Etc., and in my case the results proved rightly so. I was even challenged, by some , about the credentials of these foreign doctors - I now wear those credentials on the palm of my hand- visible to all.
Scalpel VS Needle? What really convinced me was meeting the only other person I know who has this condition. A 74 YO man who had surgery 12 years ago. He went through 8 months of hell, including a terrible infection. He now has those same fingers, little and ring, totally closed to the palm. Worse, he now has that same condition on his other hand. He now only has the use of, if you could call it that, three digits on each hand. He poked me in the chest with what worked of his hand and asked "What do you have to lose, I wish I could go"? He proved his point and I scheduled my trip to Paris. JIM

success story with NA

I recently traveled to Paris, and had the aponervotomy done on March 17th. My little finger has been contracted for more than eight years. It was straight after one 45 minute treatment. Dr. Badois proved to be a caring, competant doctor. The french people were kind to us. No problem not knowing the language. Two weeks after the procedure I am back to work full schedule. My work is muscular therapy, and very physical on the hands, that's why I waited. Yes, this procedure should be done in the states. I would most definately reccomend this rather than the prolonged surgical procedure.

How far gone can this fix?

I am 57, northern european and male. This condition started 10 years ago in my right "mouse" little finger. I can now open it to about 45' from closed.
IS IT TOO LATE for the needle?
How do I find this doctor? Or a good doctor for surgery, should it comes to that!
I fly over 100,000 miles each year sometimes with heavy bags and can wait no more for new trials!
I'll fly anywhere! tomorrow!
Thanks for the incouragement!

Go to www.dupuytren,org

Just go to www.dupuytren.org and you will get all the information you need. There is also a message board there, similar to this one, where you can get answers specific to the NA procedure. You can E-mail pictures of your condition, (which is what I did), and get answers as to what kind of results to expect if you have it done. It thus becomes an on-line office visit and consultation with an overseas expert without leaving your home. Jim

Tomahawk Chop

It has been 1 month since my NA procedure to get my little finger straightened. It lays totally flat once again. It is so nice not poking myself in the eye or nose when washing my face (remember those days?). When finished with the procedure, Dr. Badois said "100 percent - Tomahawk Chop!" Now if I were a Brave's fan, I would go to Atlanta and show off my new "Tomahawk Chop"! JIM
