doctors using collagenase?

I know there is the study going on in New York; but all the doctors close to the west coast seem to be 100% convinced major surgery is the only way to go.

I've read of aponevrotomy (needle fasciotomy) that has excellent results (per their posting) in France.

Now that the FDS has given orphan drug status to collagenase, does that mean doctors can use it? I know they have access to it, so they can if they are willing to use it for (I think it's called off label?) purposes.

I don't have any constriction of the fingers yet. I do wake up sometimes with pain in the lump in the palm of my hands. I'd like to have treatment before loss of function, but obviously will delay until something better comes along.

If anyone hears of an orthopedic doctor who has good qualifications and trying this, let us know.

Doctor in San Francisco who uses collagenase

I understand there is a doctor in the San Francisco Bay area that uses collagenase. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who can identify him.

Any US (or foreign) surgeons using Cordase?

Have you been successful in your search for physicians who will inject Cordase for Dupuytrens?

Would appreciate all names (addresses, tel. no.) which you have been able to locate.

Am newly diagnosed and fearful of surgery.

Thank you kindly.

I had a Peyronies-Dupuytrens condition start at the same time I had a bad zinc deficiency-I don't know if there's a connection but I thought I would just put it out there.

Non-Surgical Cure ?

Hope you can help!

I’m new to the Dupuytren's Forum, but not to Dupuytren's that showed up about 10 years ago. Had surgery on my left hand 2 years ago but Dupuytren's is now back in the L hand worse than ever. So I know from experience surgery is only a stopgap.

I know about the French Needle so I am very interested in info about non-surgical cures. Question:

1) Are there any legit non-surgical cures? Who and where?
2) Is the SUNY Stony Brook cure near going public? Any info on the status?
3) Are there any doctors (or anyone else) doing injections? Who and where?

Please help with any info you have. I don’t want any more surgery!

Thanks Very Much!

The following is a partial quote: "...17 out of 20 (85 percent) these responded sucessfully"...This is from
"Doctors guide to the internet" at www.docguide.com These are current treatment results for the injection of Dupuytrens with Cordase.

Cordase injections

I've had Dupuytren's for about 8 years and sugery about 4 years ago on left pinky which was drawing up badly. The recovery was terrible and it was only my pinky! My palms are deforming now and my left hand can't open completely. I do not want surgery again. I'm a technician and can't work if my hands are crippled before or after surgery. Is anyone giving the injections in the south? Actually, I'll travel anywhere I have too. Does anyone have names or #'s for doctors giving the Cordase injections? Thanks. James

Cordase

William,

So 85 percent of Dupuytren's patients responded successfully from the injection of Cordase. That sounds pretty good to me. I just hope my stubborn, thick headed hand doctor will go along with that.
