'dupputtrins contracture'.I'd heard it pronounced like

English and French

My U.S.A. Internist said "Doopy-trons." The French doctor
credited with identifying the malady was Dr. G. Dupuytren,
which is pronounced Doo-pwee-tron with, I believe, emphasis
on the second sylable (pwee.) Because the malady is referred
to as Dupuytren's Disease or Dupuytren's contractures, it is
commonly called Dupuytren's (Doopy-trons or Doo-pwee'-tronz.) In French the Du is somewhat nasal and not exactly
Doo, more like the sound in "two" (Dwo-pwee'-trenz.) In
English speaking areas Doopy-trons is understood better than
dwo-pwee'-tronz, je crois.

Tabors Medical Dictionary

LOL...I hear that last person, " I don't care what ya call it, just get it off me!!'" right on!!
Anyway, I think there are TWO pronunciations of the disease, the American and the French. It French, it, according to what I've read, is pronounced Du PWEE' trens but in American, its pronounced DUPE' a trens.

Pronunciation of Dupuytren~sq~s

According to Warnant's 'Dictionnaire de la prononciation francaise', Dupuytren in France is pronounced something like 'du-pwee-trann' or 'du-pwee-trenn'. The last syllable rhymes with French words like 'vin' or 'pain' (i.e. NOT like the last syllable of 'restaurant' or 'Rouen'). How it's pronounced in America is another matter!
