NA

I also hope that I remain at Stage one; please remember that
I had NA when my right little finger contracture approached
about 35 degrees of contracture. I would be at Stage two
otherwise. When the contracture returns, I will go back to
France for another 20-30 minute session. My options were
increased by the posts of those that preceded me and were
willing to share their experiences. My Internist referred
me to a plastic surgeon. Fortunately, my independent streak
led me to this and the Lariboisiere site. Instead of surgery, I had a corrective procedure. I owe a debt of
gratitude to those of you who "paved the way." Thanks.
No hubris intended. My condition is mild compared to that of
many others. Keep on sharing.

Ketchum

well I've got an appt. in oct to see dr. ketchum. I am also going to see a doctor in boston whose abstract was posted here, dr skoff, who used a synthesis technique and had good recurrance results. We'll see who makes a more compelling case if this second NA fails too. The doctor's skill and technique are so important but there isn't an easy way to pick out which is best and they often don't know which is best for you even if they use a particular technique over another. I wish there was a Zagats for hand surgeons! ;-)

McCash method

Randy,
Sorry that I didn't respond sooner, I had intended to. Richard had the McCash method used on one of his four surgeries. It was in his palm area only. In other words, his palm was left open to heal, while the fingers were still stitched up via the zigzag method. It was his most difficult surgery of them all. I feel for you with your recovery. I saw the difficult recovery he went through with it.

Dr. K

Sean,
Since I never like to misquote, I was quick to say that I don't know what Dr. Ketchum does for others. Where on his website does it say that he performs limited fasciectomies?
I just looked it back over and must have missed it. Let me know where it is when you have a chance. Thanks!

Dr. K

Mary Beth,
Go to Dr. K. website, click on surgery. It is the last sentence in Dupuytren's. It is the sentence that I quoted.

Dr Moermans

Sean,
Thanks, also didn't you once print the website for Dr. Moerman (sic?)? It had info on segmental removal. Do you still have that website available. If so please post.
Thanks
