DEAD

Going to http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct/gui/show/NCT00014742?order=1
This update is 2 years old. So the trial appears dead.

Study is alive

I'm about an hour from Stony Brook University. I might be interested in their trials but don't know how to get in.

OTOH the contractures are just in the middle of my right palm and although I can't lay my hand flat (about 3/4 inch above flat) the hand is otherwise OK. Also I first noticed the problem at age 50 about six years ago so the progression is going rather slowly. Not sure I want to be a Guinna pig for something that is not so bad (yet). But I probably could be convinced.

Study is alive

Sorry for the mixup.
Government site behind as always. I emailed Dr. Hentz at Stanford since I will be there in a couple weeks. His quick response(which I thank him for) is

Sorry, clinical trial is very oversubscribed.

Which while disapointing for me in the immediate future means the trial is alive, well and going forward. Since DC is a long term problem this is promising.. a shot a year beats two or three nasty surgerys in a lifetime anyday and maybe I won't have to take a drywall knife to my hand after all.

skeptical about trials

It seems tome that those Phase III trials have been "about to start" for several years now. If I could contact one of the doctors involved in the current incarnation of the trials, I would ask these questions:

1. Hasn't BioSpecifics sold all the rights to this product to Auxilium?

2. Is Auxilium now funding the trials?

3. Does Auxilium really intend do anything with this drug, or are they just completing the trials , after which it will remain in their "pipeline" for an indefinite amout of time?
