NA for second time
I want to post how pleased I am with my recent visit to see Dr. Denkler. I had NA in Paris in the Fall of 2003 and some relapse had occurred. I would have happily returned to Paris except for logistics and the availabilty of NA in the U.S.. Dr. Denkler used a somewhat more aggressive approach (more fibers released) and completely straightened my "pinkie" from aprox. 35 degrees. Needless to say, the procedure was brief, painless and with very limited after effects (slight bruising due to my daily 81 mg.aspirin.) If you are undecided and sitting on the fence, I encourage you to seek a consult from a Dr. on the list. I chose him and the result is super! Plus, I got to tour San Francisco.

Interesting News from Dr. Denkler
Monday I saw Dr. D for a cortisone shot in a pesky new nodule after NA 5 month ago. (pinkie that had the NA is doing well). Dr. D had two exciting new pieces of information.
The first is that another researcher has observed that collagenase seems to dissolve cellulite. If that is true then there would be a big market for collagenase resulting in acceleration of the studies and approval process.
The second is that Dr. D is working on a procedure to help limit the reoccurrence of Dups. following NA treatment. After doing the usual NA, a bit of skin tissue is injected into the site of the break in the cord, creating a sort of firewall to stop the re-growth. The idea comes from the fact that Dups doesn't usually come back where there has been a skin graft. Dr. D is going to do this "firewall" procedure soon. What a great idea!
This is wonderful news for all of us. Thanks Dr. Denkler. Please comment on this when you can.

DD/DC advancements
I share your enthusiasm; Dr. Denkler mentioned the injected firebreak concept to me also. My personal reservations involve a reluctance to have cadaver tissue injected into my tissue, because it cannot be "sterilized," only "disinfected." The risk is low, but real; cadaver tissue is only safe when no longer biologic (Dead.) Because of that, porcine (pig)substitutes are available. The experts are not in agreement; I am not an expert. Dr. Denkler is an expert and can justifiably "push the envelope." Please recognise that limitations still exist. Dr. Denkler has your interests at heart; disclaimers exist. I was, and you will be well served by Dr. Denkler. The list has fine alternatives: Eaton, Pess, Bourland, Paris Staff. The triage is no-one; someone, the best; that would be an oversimplification. Randy and others have brought us choice in the USA. The list includes better and best. Start somewhere; but, these are all "A" team doctors: i.e., the best!

Clearant Inc. L.A.
I want to amend my previous reference to allograft (cadaver) tissue. Clearant, Inc. in L.A. has a process for delivering sterile and usable tissue. This is a relatively recent advancement and a major development. As applications increase, Doctors will have greater control over the origin and condition of donor tissue. Anyone interested can do a search: Clearant Inc. Also my hand is fine and the small amount of bruising is almost completely gone (6 days post NA.) Zero problems.
