Transdermal Verapamil

Hi. I just thought I would share my experience with transdermal verapamil for Ledderhose disease. Some background: I have knuckle pads and the beginning of cords in my palms as well as masses and cords in both feet. A MRI (with contrast) of my feet has confirmed it to be mass and cords to be plantar fibromatosis. I went to 2 of the best podiatrists in CT and one was very familiar with transdermal verapmil and the other never heard of it and was pushing for surgery. NOT! Podiatrists seem to believe that Ledderhose is any a benign slow growing condition. My knuckel pads and Ledderhose grew very fast. Matter of fact I could feel them growing at night!
Started on a compounded version of verapamil from my local compounding pharmacy rather than the ultra expensive version from the Texas company. $69 for a months supply. I've been applying it to my arches twice a day as well to my knuckels and palms for the last 2 months. After the first 2 weeks, the night pain in my feet is gone. Now after 2 months, the mass in my foot is almost gone. The cord is still there but I couldn't be happier with the progress and will continue to apply the cream 2x/ day. It certainly beats surgery!

Yes it can help in hands & feet. You have to rub it in for a long time but the feeling is great .I have been using it for 1 week now with great results.

Re: Transdermal Verapamil

From what I've heard, the stuff is greasy and not practical when it comes to applying to the hands. Feet, yes, but hands, no. Therefore, it's been less effective on the hands. Also, other reports have shown no benefit for the hands. But I'm glad you're getting results! It's hard to get a doctor to write a prescription for it too! No one's heard of it...

It drys in about 15 mins. and not greasy to the touch on hands. It has only been a week for me ,so i better wait and see what it looks like in 3 or 4 more weeks.I can say it sure feels better after 1 week, and some size reduction on the foot nodules

Been on Verapamil cream for a few months now. Continued great results on my feet. Reduction in fibroma tumor size in my feet and softening of the contracture cords. Not much effect on the knuckle pads on my hands. I probably need to apply and wear gloves to get better hand results.
