Dr. Eaton in Jupiter

barelywashed

I was new to this Forum a couple of months ago, and found lots of great information. As a musician (pianist), it was critical to my career that I find some kind of treatment for Dupuytren's immediately as I was having to cancel work because of it. It got increasingly uncomfortable and sometimes impossible to play the piano much as I tried to disguise it.

I spent weeks researching Doctors all over the US who performed NA and narrowed the search down to three. I then sent pictures of my hands to the three clinics. Dr. Eaton in Florida called me just three or four hours later, spent 30 minutes discussing the pictures with me in great detail, and was so thorough and informative about it all that I knew it was the right fit for me. I think I made the right choice.

After I made the appointment, I flew down to Jupiter Florida from Nashville and had NA on both hands about three weeks ago. I flew to Ft. Lauderdale on Southwest, then rented a car. It was an easy trip, and I spent three nights in Jupiter. Dr. Eaton only works on one hand a day, and I now see why. It was hard to do simple tasks (like eating, dressing, showering etc.) for a few days. He did the right hand on the first day, and it took just over an hour, with a 45 minute consultation before he started. The second day he did my left hand, which took a little over an hour.

I had two releases on each hand, then a couple of shots of cortisone in each hand where I had large nodules. Dr. Eaton did a great job, and even though it's only been a short while, I would recommend him to anyone. Even though my hands were black and blue and a little sore, I flew from Nashville, TN to Tucson Arizona TWO days after the surgery and played piano the whole next week in a recording studio. I did 'baby' my hands for the week, but the fact that I could word made me very happy. The result of the surgery was beyond my expectations, and I will keep up with this forum and let you know how I am doing in the future. My Orthopedic doctor here in Nashville (the Dupuytren's got noticeably worse in January after a wrist injury) mentioned flying down to Dr. Eaton's Hand Clinic to get some hands on experience there. He was very positive about it all even though no one is performing NA here in Nashville. I know he's thinking about expanding his practice to include NA in the future. Anyone who wants to see my 'before' and 'after' pictures can send my a request and I'd be happy to sent them. They are pretty striking.
Hang in there,
Barry

Re: Dr. Eaton in Jupiter

It is Saturday, March 13, 2010 just before I am to get on a plane to go to West Palm Beach and then to Jupiter. Dr. Eaton is doing NA on my left hand on Monday and treating my right hand for a nodule. I too live in Nashville and saw a hand surgeon at TOA. She wanted to operate immediately. I held off, researched, found out about Dr. Eaton, and so I'm off to Jupiter.
I too live in Nashville.

You'll be glad you waited and did the research. Dr. Eaton is wonderful. It's now been over 8 months since I visited him for my NA and I have to say I would do the same thing again in a heartbeat. No reservations at all. Please tell Dr. Eaton hi for me and good luck!
