Will be on the plane in a hour or 2.....I have read your many posts.......they have been a great help to me and I guess many others.....I m really pleased that your condition has improved......it inspires newcomers like myself to have a positive attitude to getting on top of this......I m reasonably well prepared for the trip having modified my diet for healing....loads of berries and tomatoes......I ve also seen a homeopath that has prescribed a course to aid healing.....if nothing else these things help my state of mind...all the best to you Di and I hope the improvements continue....

I left my young family at the airport in NZ anticipating a long trip to hamburg....it would be 40 hours door to door and I do not travel well....I have to manage food intake and sleep carefully to avoid migraines......apart from that I have always led a healthy life and still play active sports competitively.....that was until I was informed that the mysterious lumps on my feet were probably ledderhose disease!!!!.....it had taken 4 practitioners 3 months to come up with this in sunny New Zealand..

I eventually arrived in hamburg and call the mercure hotel......they pick me up promptly as arranged.....and within ten minuites I m there in my room......I got a deal on the net for the room for 350 euros for 5 nights......breakfast was 14 euros......buffet style....and I thought very good value..

Anyway being cramped up in tin tubes and airports for so long I decided to take a quick walk...... It was a cold and bleak Sunday afternoon..... I decided to walk to the clinic......being a sceptic.... Part of me thought that this forum and the rave reviews of prof seegenschmeidt was part of an elaborate scam......I had crossed referenced many items before booking my flights.....but that nagging feeling in the back of the head needed to be satisfied!!!!! 10 minuites later.....bingo!!!!the clinic was here....I walked back to the hotel and slept.....soundly...

The next morning I arrived at the clinic for my 11am appointment with prof seegenschmeidt.. I was presented with some medical forms to fill out and sat in a small waiting room....there were around 8 other patients in there.....sadly a few few were clearly in a bad way with cancer....it certainly helped me gain some perspective....my suspected ML ....although not nice.....was n t a death sentence!!!

I recognized prof. Seegenschmeidt as soon as he opened the waiting room door.....he called me for my appointment and
we left for a consultancy room upstairs.....my initial impression was how warm he was...... A very natural man....I asked him if I could record our session so that I could review it.....he had no problem with this.....at this point I would say that recording the initial consultation has been very useful......you can never remember everything that was said.

Despite going to Germany for ML.... The prof wanted to examine my hands.....I think that this an important point.....many people with ML also unknowingly have Dups....around 50 percent..... and this is also the case with people diagnosed with dups......although the percentage is nt as high.....within seconds the prof diagnosed dups in my hands....he stated today is "day zero" ....he took some measurements so we have record for the future reference...to see if there is progression......basically this involved drawing around an outstretched hand on tracing paper and then backing it up on the other side with the other hand.......very simple.....and affective......although I suspected that I had something weird going on with my hnds and that it may be dups ....I was a little sad to have it confirmed....the left hand had 4 nodules and 3 cords the right hand hand had 3 nodules and 3 cords...both hand were at stage N.

My feet were then assessed....it was again very quickly identified that I had ML in both feet.... the prof performed a number of simple tests to document the stage of disease.....I was diagnosed with a 3.5 cm nodule in my right foot with a 5 cm cord and a 2 cm nodule in my left foot with a 5 cm cord....both feet were at stage 2....the overwhelming feeling I had was that this guy really knows this stuff.....and that my decision to fly half way around the world to meet him was vindicated.....even if my treatment ultimately does n t work out......I believe I had given myself the best chance statistically of having the best outcome......I think it is important to define this before you have any of treatments that are available to you......for me .....it was to be able play and run around with my 2 year old son until he leaves school....

We then discussed the assessment, the risks and suggested treatment.....the prof.has a 6 point scoring system for evaluation....you basically require 3 or more to qualify for RT.....my feet managed 5 for the left and 4 for the right.....and my hands managed 2.....so the feet were inline for a holiday in Chernobyl.......and my hands would have to wait and see..the treatment would start that afternoon......and for the following 4 days..... It was super simple.....just turn up.....it would take just a few minuites.......and is well documented process on this forum.....

At the end of the week....I met with the prof once again....he showed me how to evaluate my hands and feet, presented me with several useful documents including post RT care ....and gave me a full written analysis of evaluation ...and treatment provided....we made an appointment for April for my second round of RT

I ve located a product of the shelf called " du it". It's a foot and heal balm containing 25 percent urea and vitamin e.....it seems to get the job done.....

Urea after RT helps retain moisture in the skin. Vitamin E is after surgery to help the healing . Regards

It's also known as 'heal balm' used for cracked heals - go to the section of the pharmacy /chemist /drug store (whatever you call it in the US!)
Go for the one with the most percentage urea. Mine's about 25 per cent.
