Confused as to what to do and where to go
I'm in Illinois and there are only 2 doctors who do NA. About 10 years ago I went to Dr. Mahoney in Peoria (about 3 1/2 hours away). Then a doctor in Chicago started doing it so I've gone to him twice. I was due to see him last week because my contractures got worse fast, but the day before he cancelled the appointment.
I've found that he's very hard to get in touch with and get a call back to schedule, even after I've emailed and called several times, so at this point I want to go to someone else. I'm worried that one of my little fingers will grow into the skin on my palm because it has a huge nodule at the base of it, and the top of my palm at that point has a nodule too. I can barely pull my finger and palm apart.
I can make an appointment with Dr. Mahoney for NA, but I read here last week (I think) that someone suggested going to a doctor that did both NA and Xiaflex to get the best result. Dr. Mahoney's not listed on the Xiaflex page. I would also have to try to get a grant from the Healthwell Foundation because I have a $6,000 deductible and I can't afford it otherwise.
I know this is kind of scattered, but does anyone have any suggestions about doctors in the Midwest US who do both NA and are experienced in using Xiaflex? If I can't find one near me, I'll have to fly somewhere although the expense will be a problem. But if I need to, I will
Also, is the result of using a doctor who does both dramatically better than just having NA?
Thanks for any and all answers, suggestions, names of doctors, etc. I'm open to anything but I think I have to do it soon (at least for that one finger).

Re: Confused as to what to do and where to go
My take would be that it might be better to have Xiaplex done by a doctor who also is trained and experienced on NA. But not so much the other way around. Of course one who does both can advise on the suitability of both. Your condition does not sound suitable for NA, but IANAD and an internet diagnosis is fraught, so I would seek advice from a surgeon, even better would be one who does Xiaplex and /or NA.
