6 months since RT on left hand and all well so far. Worrying about Right Hand as new nodules already appearing outside perimeter of surgery which was only 4 months ago.
I am going to Sarasota Fl for year and wondering if I will find an Ocologist there who can treat new nodules with RT. Appears DD in hands is going to be unending battle. I can always tell when it's active as that spot itches beyond belief. Anyone else have that symptom or know of Radiation Ocologist treating DD Sarasota Fl?

Owen B. I am getting RT at Ackerman Cancer Clinic in Jacksonvijlle Florida. Dr.Ackerman is a well known doctor for RT. Hope this helps. I need to know a doctor who will do xiaflex on LD in case the RT doesn't work.

Thank you all for your info. I wish everyone in initial stages DD had RT option.
I am 69 female DD 20 years, very good health, monitor my weight and diet and exercise regularly. DD is my only nemesis.
My DD progressed rapidly in right hand to point of 45° closure this year with nodules covering palm up two fingers and contracting all but thumb. I had xiaflex twice in Sarasota years ago but DD.returned with vengeance within a few years and also nodules began forming on left hand. Don't know why I never considered NA but guess I thought DD was something I could live with and surgery was too invasive and.that xiaflex was my answer
Came back hometown upstate NY early this year and had surgery on right hand.(near family ) It is healing but Doc couldn't get it all after a 3 hour surgery with local anesthesia. I can now open my hand but DD still active
At same time this was happening I hand RT here in NY on left hand as the DD was in its initial stages when RT is most effective . (RT ruled out on right hand too much DD progression. I had 3 RT treatments repeated in 3 month interval. (I learned about RT from this site and found Ocologist was.in vicinity of my surgeon)
I am very pleased so far and wish it was available years ago. This is where I'm at now. Already worrying DD is acting up in my right hand after surgery. New nodule and horrific itching
Relocating back to Sarasota and wonder if this continues at a rapid rate there is an Ocologist there I can see. That's where I'm at.

Hi Newman, I believe Prof. Seeegnschmiedt is currently working with several German surgeons testing the effect of RT after Dupuytren surgery. Naturally, it will take a few years until results on recurrence will become available.

During a meeting of the Dupuytren's Society, in Munich a couple of years back Prof. Seegenschmiedt could see no reason why patients having had surgery and also had active aggressive Dupuytrens ,that radiotherapy could be carried out.
I would investigate. In my case in 07 I had radiotherapy some 6 to 8 weeks after a repeat surgery .
