A mitochondrial disease

I am a swedish mother of a 18 years old daughter with autism. She developed at aged 10 severe problems with her eyesight, she lost her peripheral vision after a vaccine-injection at school. She has photophobia(sensitiveness to light) and she was totally exhausted after just a short walk.Medicating now.She also has difficulties with stiff legs, mood swings aso. My mother has now been told and diagnosed having Dupuytrens contracture by my daughters doctor. And the doc says Dup is a mitochondrial disease affecting my mother,me and my daughter. We are all suffering from tireness fibromyalgia type - this is because of DUP!There is something called mtDNA (mitochondrial DNA) in which scientist has found DUP disease. Not to confuse with regular DNA in chromosomes. Eveery cell in your body has five mitochondrias working as factories of energy causing much damage when not working properly causing -DUP amongst other diseases causing damage to the liver and kidneys in long term. Love to hear from anyone and glad to help!

Mitochondrial Disease

just because your mother has Dups that doesn't mean that you and your daughter have the disease. Each persons DNA is different. My grandmother hand Dups (born 1876)and she had four daughters who in turn had several daughters and so on. NOT ONE of three subsequent generations has shown signs of Dups. The information given to you is flawed and can lead to unnessary distress. The correct advice to you should be that Dups is largely hereditory and you may or may not have the defective gene.
I am interested in your statement that Dups causes liver damage. Can you please tell us how this can be indentified. Is it in a broad spectrum liver (blood), test?

Fibromyalgia

Agneta,

What you are implying is that Dups is a related disease to Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. While I too believe that Fibro/CFS is caused by a genetic defect, *and* I also have Fibro/CFS + Dups (how fun is that!), I doubt the connection.

<<<That said, who else around here has Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as well as Dups?>>>>

Essentially, I was unable to wash my car without deep debilitating fatigue for days. I was as fortunate to discover Dr. Paul St. Amand of UCLA who diagnosed me and has put the disease in remission (Not a Cure....there is no Cure). If you actually *do* have Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome you need to check this out:

colchicine and acetyl-l-carnitine

I am 33 and had quick onset of dup last year and pain in my feet. I have posted in some other threads my success with these two substances, one a prescription rx and the other a nutritional supplement. After 2 NA procedures in 2 months on the same fingers I started taking them. Dr Eaton prescribed the colchicine (now taking .6mg/day due to liver issues down from 1.2mg) and 2g a day of acetyl-l-carnitine which has shown promise in peyronies. Started both at the same time but my feet have felt good since Sep now and my finger stopped rebounding from the second NA - stopped dead in its tracks for 10 months now (knock on wood). With the sudden reversal of my fortunes I am positive one or both of these things helped me. Please look up my older thread with these in the subject for more info.

! Cures for Dupuytren~sq~s Contracture !

I have this in my right hand.
I don't like the idea of an operation, and it looks like rife has freqencies for this, so I'm going to try his frequences and see how well it works.
This would seem to be the most desirable option, painless, and hopefully will dissapear in a few weeks.

I'll start the treatment in the next week, and report back to this board in a months time with results. If anybody else has already tried this, please let me know what success you had?

Non-surgical cure for Dupuytren~sq~s

There is a ray of hope for dup sufferers. I'm a high level musician and my non-contracting dup has limited my playing technique. They have an injection now that in most cases literally disolves the aponeroses (thickened matrix of collegen) and it literally dissapears within a few days to a couple of weeks. It has not been yet approved by the FDA but two clinical trials show very encouraging results. The only problem is getting it approved. A company called bio-specifics has developed this collagenase. (clostridial collagenase)

By the way, has anyone ever heard of dissolving the diseased tissue with high frequency sound waves??? If so, please email me and let me know everything you know. My musical career depends on me finding a non-surgical cure. Do you know if rubbing the nodules frequently and firmly with lotion may help disolved the tissue? My problem is the underside of my palm skin is strongly attached to the nodules.

$$$$$$$$$

Brian,

The problem is getting the $$$$$ to invest in the clinical trials to get it approved. It's still years away.

Meanwhile, the only noninvasive procedure is NA. Stick around and you'll find out about it.
