40 minutes

Sue,

All you need at a minimum is about 2 twenty minute sessions with your hand per day. Use a basin of very warm water for the first 10 minutes. That will loosen up the stiffness so you can get full range over the next 10 minuets. Ignore the pain.

You have *one* shot at getting your hand back, and this is *it*. Only you can do it.

Please, find the 40 minutes a day.

Randy

Dupuytrens

I was just today 8/23/2005 diagnosed with Dupuytrens. I an not in agreement that surgery is the answer. Has any one had any suscess with Neddle Aponevrotomy The Handcenter.org is the only place I have found in the states that is performing treatment. I understand in my reading about this disease that it most likly will return even after surgery, so why do it? And how many times can your hands take the surgery, over your life time? I am a 56 year old male who needs both working hands to perform his employement. Hope to hear from someone who has had the Neddle Aponevrotomy.

I don't want to sound offensive but really your questions are answered on this forum constantly. A little effort on your part on reading some of the threads will give the knowledge that has been imparted on this site.
May I respectfully suggest that you spend some time reading through a number of subjects and you will come up to speed.

K... Then I can deduce from this page that I should avoid glucosamine @ all costs! I can also say that increase consumption of ~Soma~, Carisoprodol, ALSO Greatly inflames these sites on NOT only hands but an eruption in both feet where previously there was no indication of such. This has happened 3 times, (months & a year)apart & just disappeared, no residual pain or swelling....& is still gone years later.
Just trying 2 help
Keith
ps:any have a sucessful NA treatment 2 share, (mayB in Spokane area or ID)?

And another testimonial

I have not been diagnosed yet with Dupuytrens but my dad has it extremely bad and takes glucosomine. At my parent's suggestion (how ironic) I started taking g/c this year and my fingers have been extremely stiff. 4 doctors have misdiagnosed me with carpal tunnel and tendonitis, even after feeling nodules in my palms. Thank you for this site as I had no idea g/c brought on this condition in me. I will be seeing a rheumotologist in a couple of weeks and will hammer him with this info in the hopes of getting an accurate dx.

Great information

My husband was diagnosed yesterday with Duputrens and scheduled for surgergy in a week. We had no idea of this disease and thought his bent finger was from a tight wedding band causing ligament damage. Immediately searched for info and glad to find this site. Lots of info made much sense to our situation. We are definitely rethinking the surgery. They want to put a pin in the finger to straighten. Anyone out there had this done. We also immediately connected with the glucosamine. Took for a couple of weeks and almost immediately his hamstrings tightened causing excessive pain and no flexibility. Stopping that immediately. Does anyone know anything about herbal supplements helping? Am doing some research. Thanks.

dupuytrens

Hey gang. I just wanted to let all the skeptics know that, from the marketing side of it, mannatech has proven to be profitable for me. My dad calls me up one day and tells me basically that "I need to get in." He lets me know of the $1200 up front cost and assures me that if I don't make my money back within a month, he'll pay me back. My dad has always had a knack for making money, so with 0 risk, and a chance at profit.... my only option was to say "yes." Its been 4 months now, and I have since signed up my wife as well. I have made a profit of $2000 thus far. Not a ton, but still profit... and it can only increase from here. On a side note, the glyconutrients seem to be working for my wife. She has had beginning stages of arthritis in her wrists and other joints, and is reporting that all pain and stiffness is gone. I have not noticed anything special other than a reduced appetite, although I never had any noticable pains before so who knows what's going on under the surface. Could it all just be in her mind? Of course... only time will tell if this is truly all its cracked up to be, but as for me... my skepticism is gone. And don't worry if you're skeptical now, because we all are at some point. I mean, come on... a miracle "sugar" that heals all ailments??? Just remember, everybody thought the Earth was flat until all of the sudden.... it wasn't!

dupuytrens

Hi

I had DP in both my feet in my early thirties. So that goes against the average (being female and getting it in the feet). Had one foot operated on, but didnt fancy going thru it again when the other foot popped up.
4 months ago i had carpal tunnel op both hands and now have the lumps in both hands. Never had Glucosamine though was thinking about it (before i read this site!)
Really dont want to go down the track of ops again unless i have to. Any body have any success with stretching and exercises?
Good luck to you all
