Coral Calcium

My husband has always avoided glucosamine and chondroiten
due to reading the posts and links from Jerry and others.
However, a few months back he began taking coral calcium due to some arthritic type aches and pains. After almost
one week he noticed that his hand hurt much worse than normal. (For those that say Dups is painless, it's not for
him) However he has had four fascietomies and has scar
tissue and nerve damage also. Just wanted to pass this info along. If anyone is taking coral calcium they may want to be aware of this. He ceased taking it immediately.

Coral Calcium

I have DC, and, I have been taking Coral Calcium for a long time. It has never made a difference in my problem. I take Calcium because I am past menopause, and, I need it. I think, it is very benificial for other problems you might develope, and have not had any increase in my DC problem from it. Millions of people need the extra calcium. I do not believe this caused his extra symptoms. I would believe more, that his symptoms were already increasing, and had nothing to do with the calcium. Just my oppinion.

Coral Calcium

I fell for the "free radicals and acidification" B.S..
That was the Dupe incentive for me.
I stopped taking Coral Calcium when a CAT Scan
revealed non-obstructive kidney stones. Since then,
news items have caught my eye. The FDA says that no
difference exists between manufactured Calcium and
naturally occurring. The proponents claim benefits
from naturally occurring phyto-minerals and increased
bio-availability. The FDA says lead is a common element
and that contents are not regulated. Bob Barefoot
and his telemarketers ceased and desisted under pressure.
I notice that my local Walgreen's no longer carries it.
Excess Calcium is excreted. Good luck figuring out the
pros and cons of sources and dosage amounts. T.V. ads
might not be the best source of information. Any nutritionists amongst us? I think the issue is not about
calcium, but why Coral Calcium and the associated expense?
