dc/trigger finger
Kennyn I am certainly no physician,,but my understanding is that there are just so many shots the docs are willing to give you in order not to do major damage...thus leaving surgery as the alternative. I hope you can speak with a doctor's office as to whether they can do surgery and dc simultaneously. I know that there was a lady who broke her finger and did so because the dups made it stick out at 45 degree angle..and somehow she broke it. I believe the dc was done in order to allow a better surgical advantage to fix the broken finger. You might want to call Dr. eaton's office if you are contemplating such a surgery with them in order that you will know to what extent you should prepare for surgery.as well as recovery..travel home..etc. I wish you luck.

Had surgery
Had surgery a week ago on left hand - thumb, middle and index trigger finger tendons released, and carpal tunnel release. It went well, and once this hand is healed, I will have surgery on right hand. Anyone wanting to know about the surgery please email me.

trigger surgery post-op
I am now 23 days post-op since trigger finger & carpal tunnel surgery on left hand. After 2 weeks, I was released to work with one weight lifting restriction, but my boss stated she had no light duty work available and will require a full medical release before I return to work :{
I am performing extensive hand exercises and therapies on myself--range of motion exercises, transverse massage on the scars, use of vitamin e oil to keep the tissues supple and to lessen the scarring, manual massage of the fingers, etc. The only thing I can not do with my hand is to lift more than 10 pounds. I am typing my usual speed of 92 wpm and have no other restrictions.
I look forward to getting the other hand fixed and want to tell others there was very little pain after the surgery--I took 2 pain pills afterwards, one four hours apart, and next few days took a little motrin occasionally. It was the use of the ice and elevation of the hand which were of greatest benefit.
