Decreased symptoms?

Has anyone had the symptoms decrease? I am dealing with that now, and don't know why. The only thing I can think of, is that I am on Celebrex for my back and neck. I am wondering if the Celebrex is making some kind of a difference. I have read in here, that it has made a difference for people. I am not at the point of full bending, and in the early stages with a cord in my hand and stiffness in the finger and knuckle. This seems, to be making it go down. Any input would be appreciated.

Reduced symptoms

I recently took Vioxx for a month for a knee problem (Baker's cyst). My Dups symptoms decreased greatly. Hand stiffness was completely gone. Now, a couple of months after stopping Vioxx, my knee is painless but my hand stiffness and pain have returned. I plan to report this to my doctor when I have my yearly physical in August.

ibuprofen

had either of you tried regular old advil etc at all and notice an improvement? They are all NSAIDs and the Viox and Celebrex are much harder to get prescribed these days.

Deck Chairs

Yes, I've noticed the increase flexibility of my yet-to-be-treated right hand since I've been given strong prescription ait-inflams for the incredibly slow post-op recovery of my right. There is definitely something to the anti-inflam effect on growing Dups. But .............so what! This amounts to nothing more than a rearrangement of Deck Chairs.

If your Dups is in "growth mode", nothing we know of as yet will stop and/or reverse it. Sorry.......Anti-inflams are nothing more than a temporary "don't walk" sign to the invading Dups cells. But Take Heart. NA appears to be the best solution. Do *nothing* until a contraction is > 30 degrees.

Vioxx

Why is it hard to get Vioxx prescribed these days?

not DC?????

I don't believe any of you have Dupuytrens. The symptoms you describe are not associated with this disease.

not DC?????

Nat, I beg to differ with you. What else would cause a huge cord in your hand, and knuckle problems, and thickness ????? I sure do have Dups. What in the world to you base this determination or " diagnosis " on?

Thank you Linda. I agree. I just returned from my doctor appt. today, and Yes , I do have DC. And, we are keeping track of it's progression. I am not happy with someone that says to me, " I don't think any of you have DC" Where is that coming from?
I know I have it. I have my hand as evidence.... my fingers, my cord, my nodual. Who , is going to say, that is not DC to me? You better have your facts ready to sell to me. Big time.
