Dupuytren~sq~s Disease Node Treatments

Dr. Ketchum injects nodes with Triamcinolone. He may be able to delay onset of DD by injecting nodules. Has anyone tried this?

"This brings us back to the early stage of the disease when the nodules have been recently formed and diagnosed. It has been our experience that at this early stage before the contracture of a digit develops, a nodule can be softened and flattened by a series of usually three injections of Triamcinolone, a form of cortisone. We have been injecting nodules in patients with Dupuytren’s contracture for 29 years and recently observed a four year window in that experience. Over 90% of the injected nodules responded after a series of injections by softening and flattening and in some cases, the process remained dormant for many years. If it exacerbated, another series of Triamcinolone injections was administered. In this way, if found before digital contracture occurs, a majority of cases can be ameliorated and the course of the disease changed. Complications of the injections are atrophy of the skin around the injection site and depigmentation of the skin; both the atrophy and depigmentation usually resolve within six months of the last injection. The injections are not effective if a digital contracture has developed."

Dupuytrens

My identical twin brother and I are now both suffering from this disease. My brother Ray first experienced the disease in his left hand and it has now 'spread' to his right hand. I am experiencing the disease in my right hand and it is now spreading to my left hand. We are 58. Although I have read that smoking and drinking can be a trigger for the disease we have never smoked and we are only very casual drinkers. This forum will hopefully provide the necessary treatment! As identical twins I would imagine someone in the medical profession would be interested in the genetic possibilities.

It is all in the inherited genes. You and your brother inherited the dna.

Dr. Ketchum

How many identical twin studies have been dune on Dusp? This is ground breaking! We al know that trauma to the hand can trigger the onset of Dups, but here are too independent set of hands responding identically to ***Age + Nothing**** That would indicate that, genetically, when your time come, your time has come. That D** Viking!....
