dupuytrens contractus
Have had d.c for twenty years .had surgery on both hands.leaving scars but gradually recerring.
Have recently attended Docteur Jean Luc Lermusiaux surgery in Gagny Paris, local anaesthetic, two visits for thumb, little finger ( both very badly affected) third finger of left hand and little finger and third finger right hand. thumb left hand improved 90%. little finger 75%. third finger 100%(both left hand)right hand little finger 100% third finger 75% returning for third treatment Nov for more treatment little finger and third finger left hand, third finger right hand.
most noticeable difference in surgical and non-surgical treatment is non-scarring and no loss of feeling in non-surgical. (aware of re-occurrence more than possible in both types but more chance of further treatment in non surgical)

Stanford Trials
Hi! I was just diagnosed with DC this morning and, in trying to find info about it, discovered this site. I am wondering what the outcome of the trials was and if anyone knows where I could get more info about them. Thanks, Sheryl

Stanford Trials
Sheryl, I have been accepted for the Stanford trials, and have been impatiently waiting for over a year for them to start. My telephone contact for this is Carolyn at 415-740-4601. She says the trials will start in January, but the start date has been pushed back a half-dozen times already. Ben

Phase III trials
Ben, What are the reasons for the delay? Is the delay from manufacturer or is the delay from a government body? There seems to be a problem somewhere. The price of the stock of Biospecifics has really struggled as though there is something wrong. Stock price should be soaring if drug showed the promise we are anticipating. Gary

Collegenase
Will the current Phase 111 trials also be held at Stanford? I assume they will be widespread. There were at the last attempt.

Collagenase trial
Rick, the results of the phase II trial have been published in 2002, e.g. as M. Badalamente et al., Collagen as a clinical target: nonoperative treatment of Dupuytren's disease., J Hand Surg [Am]. 2002 Sep;27(5):788-98. An abstract is e.g. at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=12239666&dopt=Abstract.
The phase III trial has been pending for quite a while now and I wonder if it ever will be completed.
Wolfgang

phase III
You can make money by selling products to customers, but you can make a lot more by selling hype to investors. And you can sell the same hype many times.

phase III
I heard conflicting information a couple of weeks ago from Dr. Vincent Hentz at Stanford, who indicated that the phase III trials could begin this summer. Who can I contact to get more definitive information?
Thanks, Richard
