Treating Dupuytren's with Acupuncture

Has anyone besides me tried acupuncture to treat their Dupuytren's? I have Dupuytren's in both hands. I've been playing the piano since age 4 and in January could barely reach an octave (8 notes) with my left hand and only 6 notes with my right. I've been getting treatments since January 2003, and I can now reach a full NINE notes with either hand, although the right hand is still more affected. My left hand has almost returned to normal and my right hand now looks better than my left hand prior to treatment.

Acupuncture

I'm also a pianist. I was delighted with my needle aponevrotomy carried out in Paris last year by Dr. Badois, but if there is an even less intrusive method, I'd be very keen to hear for future reference. Can you provide further details?

acupuncture for DC

I've been treating a 47 year old man with the mild beginnings of DC with acupuncture, with nothing but good results, so far. The nodule on his hand has reduced by half in only 4 weeks, and he claims to have no pain and more mobility. I can only highly recommend acupuncture treatments!

also a pianist

Hello...the hand therapist who has been rehabilitating my recently broken wrist 6/21/03 commented today that the unusual cords and scar tissue in the palm of my hand may be Dup's Disease. The orthopedist has mentioned nothing. All this hand swelling came from the crunching constricture of the cast. During the past year I had developed a tightening on the knuckle of my left ring finger. Now that I've surfed the internet, I guess I have a predisposition. I thought playing the piano and stretching the palm would be good therapy. I am 66 and play piano and am a composer/songwriter Do you think so? I surely feel for you as a pianist.

accupuncture

I had my left hand operated a year ago and its almost back to where it was and there is no way will I let them operate on my right. I'm in my seventies - still involved i our family busness - and I still enjoy golfing. So, I'm trying everything - accupuncture, you name it.The jury is still out on the accupuncture.
