Good site; I only wish I knew the answer. I'm somewhat in your position--five months with this diagnosis, early stage of two nodules in the right palm and no bending. Saw two hand doctors and both said do nothing--no suggestions for eating, cremes, vitamins, stretching etc.
Russian and Austria-Hungary heritage, age 54, nonsmoker, social drinker, active tennis player (noticed some palm pain a year ago), scuba diver, bread baker, runner and no health issues (at least known). I keep looking for a common denominator but it eludes me.

Sean may be right in saying that there may be no progression in my case. There is clearly growth over these five months and I have been obsessed with this mystery condition. Even without pain, its mere existence is something I continually notice. I have attempted to change grips on my tennis racquet and it only lowers my standard of play. I had never heard of DP. But this forum has clearly opened my eyes.
It boggles my mind that medical science has no answer despite 200 years or so of living with this one. This seems a lot easier to deal with than cancer. So I look into my glass ball of the future in the event my condition continues on its way. The Phase III trials of this enzyme are promising, but FDA trials often require more and more data. I doubt BioSpecifics can last that long having reviewed their financial condition. Without an Abbott or Pfizer stepping up I'm afraid that path will lead nowhere. Surgery scares me because of the recurrence rate and the difficulty of this surgery. I continue to be favorably disposed to the NA and plan to follow developments there.
Maybe I am spoiled. I am used to getting answers. Dermotologists give us a magic creme; breaking a bone is repairable; knees and hips are replaced; heart operations get the patient home in a day. Yet DP has no answers.
