An old (painful) cure
I was carrying a heavy suitcase through the airport recently and felt a pop and a burning sensation in my palm. When I looked at my right hand, I noticed that my ring finger, which was about 45deg contracted, was now perfectly straight! The next day, the base of my thumb was black and blue but not sore. My pinkie is still over 90deg contracted and awaits NA by Dr.Eaton. Maybe if I went out and tried to throw a shotput or something.... hmmmm

Wow, I haven't heard of that before, but I'm sure it has happened to others before. Sounds painful though. Let us know what Dr. Eaton says about that.

An old (painful) cure
My Dad has Dupe's (me too, another story) and his old-school doctor told him several years ago that in the old days they'd put the hand flat on a table and pound it until the chords popped! Needless to say, he didn't agree to the procedure. But really it makes sense: both traditional surgery and NA essentially cut/perforate/pop the chords, which is what happened to you.

Ouch. I wouldn't try snaping my own cords under any circumstance. If they do it on their own - fine - but other then that I leave my hands up to the experts.

All I know is, I am doing hand therapy now, and he told me, with therapy, you just might feel a pop, and a free hand. In certian cases, it can just break loose. He said, it can just Snap, and Pop. Very painful when it does, but, it can happen. Patty
