So are Frances and RandyH the same person ??????? I don't think Frances had posted previously on this thread. It now all makes sense.

Uh.... no we are not the same person. I thought Larry was referring to my posts in the other thread since he referred to me.

Hello Jim,

I'm sorry, I did not mean to make it look like Frances and RandyH are the same person. Of course they are not.

Thank you for your apology, Frances, and I apologize for being so surly, I guess it just hit a nerve. I think even the physicians here in the USA who are not "Paris Trained", such as Dr Bourland or any of the others who are starting to use this technique, they are competent physicians and they all deserve our utmost gratitude for being open to NA and going outside the "standard of care" here in litiginous USA.

I don't think this procedure is as difficult as say, heart surgery, and we should focus more on spreading general awareness of it than on our lay ideas about who is competent to perform it. Physicians are not fools. They are professionals and are not going to risk their reputations and standing within their peer community doing something they aren't qualified to do.

Best wishes to everyone in the New Year,
hopefully by January 2007 this board won't even be needed anymore!

Larry,

Obviously my inclusion of a ":)" at the end of the post in question was not sufficient to indicate my comment was completely Tongue In Cheek and I meant nothing derogatory. Please accept my apology since it appeared as if I had. The truth is, should I need another NA I am planning to see Dr. Denkler biased on his training and qualifications. PIP or no PIP.

Yes, the tone around here does get a bit surly at times as many hold strong emotional positions (including me). Looks liked my attempt at a little levity was not appreciated. I can see why. Now, having been successful in seeing NA spread, the topic of Dr. qualifications for NA is going to be increasingly controversial. Hopefully those of us who are strong NA advocates can all work together in spite of the fact that we are going to have opposing views.

We all have the same goal, which is to make this NA discussion unnecessary. Some are more concerned than others about NA getting a bad rap from bad doctors. After Eaton's presentation I think we are going to loose what feeble influence we might have had in any case. It will be in the hands of whatever CHS want to jump in. As good a place as any and a perhaps a necessary part of NA's acceptance.

Have a good 2006.

Randy

I just saw that "Keith Denkler, M.D." now appears on the French list of NA practitioners. He qualifies as A+ to even the most *strident* protectors of NA purity. There is little reason for anyone in the West to visit Jupiter, unless you desperately need to hear Eaton's Classic Rock station with a needle in you hand.

I am the original author of this thread and apparantly there is another Jim or someone who wants to use my name. I did not ask the question about Frances and Randy H being the same person, just for clarification. Guess I will use my full name from now on just so everyone is clear who they are conversing with. If someone wants to stir up crap, I sure wish you would go somewhere else and do it and let us get on with trying to help each other !!! Thank You, Jim Knight

Well Jim, welcome to the Forum. That's the way it goes around here. Here we are making a huge difference in the lives of our fellow sufferers and someone with Borderline Personality Disorder hijacks your name.

Look at it as flack, coming up from your Nazi German target below, or the judges increasing the Degree of Difficulty on your next dive to include a Double Back Flip with a Twist. We've encountered this, and more. (At least I'm not selling Chinese herbs!)

The inmates are running the Asylum, so a crack pot or two is to be expected...........

Names

Jim,

The forum has good formation, but many of the postings are by a few people using different names. Is it wrong? Who knows? But, the wise will take everything with a big grain of salt.
