Anything I can do?

I already have an appointment scheduled in Oct. with Dr. Eaton, but I wondered about anything I can do in the meantime. My pinkie has already contracted, but my ring finger has not. There is currently a very sore nodule on my ring finger. Does this mean that contracture will begin soon on this finger? I remember having a small nodule on my pinky, but it was never so uncomfortable. Any suggestions? As a newcomer to the forum, I have really appreciated all the information here. I hope this isn't a repeat of a previous question that I missed. Thank you.

sore nodule

I have had a sore nodule at the joint of my left pinkie finger for a long time, with contracture of the finger. The skin at that point is dimpling and also looks as if it is twisting around my finger. At first I thot it was a splinter causing the pain. My rheumatologist (I have limited scleraderma) sent me to the hand surgeon who wants to operate immediately. Iv'e read that healing takes a long time and can include therapy and splints for months and also that reoccurance of this condition is common. Wondering what to do.

Surgery

You don't have to do anything immediately. Check out Dr. Eaton's website and learn as much as you can. If you do have surgery there are very successful outcomes. Or you might chose NA if your situation is acceptable.
