did surgery prove a good outcome for dupytrens patients

I am a 68 year old caucasian female who developed nodes in the palm of my left hand approximately 18 years ago .It was not until 18 months ago that the skin of my palm began dimpling with contracture of my ring and pinkie finger. Progresion has been more rapid the last 6 months, increasing the angle of my bending fingers. I do not have pain and since I am right handed have not been hampered by the condition. However , I fear that if the condition worsens I will be handcapped. I have consulted surgeons who can not predict my future but advocate surgery which is 2 hours under general anesthesia . And they say the conditions reoccurs. Any one who has had surgery or can advise me ?

surgery

Please take your time and read all the posts under surgery vs the NA procedure..make an educated choice..from my own personal experience I would never have had two surgeries knowing what the outcome was..try the non invasive before you have your hand butchered..good luck..

Painful lumps

I've had 2 surgeries. I would not do another unless NA was ruled out for some reason.
