The Math

Right you are Sean. My surgery + therapy came to a mere $9,000 or so, so 14 million is out of line I believe. I certainly have heard of some procedures + expenses well over $10,000, so I think $10,000 is about average. That would put us at $7,500,000. that has been removed from the pockets of the invasive surgical crowd. Eaton of course has charged $700 per finger, and some have multiple fingers done, so lets average that to $1,000 per patient. That's $750,000 (which means there is good money in doing NA part-time from your office), which means these 750 patients have actually saved just under 7 million. That's too small for a general wake up call for the surgically inclined. I'll bet when NA is removing $25 Million from American Dups surgeons, they might raise a collective eyebrow and wonder what on earth is going on. All in good time.

cost

Randy,
You are still stretching it to fit your scenario. The total cost of my procedure (85 degree contraction) was $3,764. This included surgeon, hospital, therapy and anathesiologist. My surgeon said my situation was very typical of most of his procedures. He also said that it (Dupuytren's)was so much easier than most of the complicated work that he does.
We discussed this previously on this forum and there were many that were less than mine. The only one more was a person who had all kinds of problems from his severe case.

Numbers

Sean,

You must have gotten the Doctor's discount by impressing them all with your expert knowledge of the disease and use of the lingo:). I'll stand by my numbers.

Numbers

Randy,
Don't you live in La La land? Perhaps that's why your numbers are from fantasy land.

Perhaps different parts of the country and different doctors charge different amounts, then there is the factor that each hand is different.

On the other hand, debate is good. Most of what we learn in this forum comes from our debates.
