DUPUYTREN'S SURGERY VS TRIGGER FINGER SURGERY
I RECENTLY HAVE HAD TRIGGER FINGER SURGERY (OCT 6TH) AFTER 8 MONTHS OF MY FINGERS NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN! THE SURGERY DIDN'T WORK, MY FINGERS ARE STILL CLOSED SHUT! IT'S ALMOST NINE MONTHS NOW. SHOULD MY DOCTOR HAD DONE SURGERY FOR THE TRIGGER FINGER FIRST, TO TRY TO SEE IF THAT WORKS? NOW, AFTER READING THIS I THINK I HAVE DUPUYTREN'S, AND WILL PROBALLY HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER SURGERY. ALSO THE REG.THERAPIST CANT HELP ME, AND IS SENDING ME TO ANOTHER HAND THERAPIST. ANY ADVICE AND OR COMMENTS ARE GREATLY WELCOME! THANK YOU.

trigger finger/dups
Well, I was lucky enough to have trigger finger in all 5 fingers on one hand. Dr. Eaton surgically corrected that hand. As we knew we ran the risk...sugery requiring opening of the hand can "trigger" dups. I had to wait 3 months for the original hand to heal..and then Dr. Eaton released the dups thereafter with great success! If you are having trouble, you may want to give his office a call to see if they can give you some information. Be advised that Dr. Zidel has many years as a board certified hand surgeon as well...so there may be 2 sources for you to tap!

Trigger finger
I have had trigger finger for a number of years and appreciate hearing your stories. My own surgery went well and the dup was not affected.
