Dupuytren Surgery vs. NA
I'm new to this but I understand there is a way to avoid an invasive surgery for a quick fix that severs the tenden. Any one know of someone in the Oklahoma City or Dallas area. I've been to three doctors and none have helped.

Surgery
Nineteen patients (28 fingers) were treated surgically for recurrent contracture.
Dermatofasciectomy and full-thickness skin grafting did not prevent recurrent contracture.
Despite these findings, 18 of the 19 patients were unconditionally satisfied with their experience and would undergo the procedure again.
This is nuts! Surgery did not prevent DD from comming back...the patients had to endure great pain and long suffering...and yet they were unconditionally satisfied with their experience and would undergo the procedure again.

You are perpetuating a myth. Generally there is very little pain from the surgery. I had about 28 stitches (can't remember for sure anymore). I was prescribed pain medication, but did not take any except advil for a couple of days. I have heard this same experience from many. There have been many on this forum that have also said this. My finger is still at 0 degrees contracture from the original 85 degree contracture. It will be a tough decision if I have to someday get the other hand fixed. I couldn't have had better results.

For your sake I'm glad your surgical recovery experience was not too painful. However, according to the clinic where I underwent post op hand therapy, the vast majority of patients who have undergone Traditional Invasive Surgery report a painful recovery. Eaton suggests this recovery is 4 to 6 moths, though he does not get into the issue of pain. Everyone's disease and experience is unique, but to suggest recovery is not painful for most people flies the face of what the professionals told me was common and all the personal testimonies I have heard. This is no Myth.

I am also glad your surgery went so well, Sean. I hope you do not have any more trouble with DD. Good luck to you.
I had NA on a stage 3 pinky. Dr. Eaton performed NA on it about a year ago. My pinky remains at 0 degrees with no sign of reoccurrence.

surgery vs NA
Like Sean, my cousin had the traditional surgery for DC about 4 years ago and did not experience any severe pain or trauma. But now that we have the NA option there's no way any surgeon here in L.A. or elsewhere is going to cut me. I have a February appointment with the good Dr. Eaton.

Surgery and pain
Had limited fasciectomy 2 1/2 years ago, no pain at all, I was amazed. Down side of this procedure is the recovery period, about 4 months of OT, but my fingers are great and I will consider it again when my other hand has to be done.

Surgery
All I can say is that surgery was the worst mistake I have ever made. I have had NA and it was 100% successful.
PLEASE ONLY HAVE SURGERY AS A LAST RESORT.
