PLEASE HELP WITH ADVICE

I am really trying to figure out if I have DD. I am atypical - 48 yr old woman of italian and eastern european descent. I fractured my wrist 4 months ago. I had internal fixation and a cast on for 5 weeks. About a week after it came off, I noticed a small lump in the middle of my left palm and a small tiny bump on the inside joint of my index finger. The hand doctor thought it was DP possibly. 6 weeks later, after examining he now thinks I don't have it. My fingers are not curling but they kind of feel sort of achy. The Dr. pressed my hand in several places. Since that didn't hurt, nor any numbness or tingling, he does not think I have it and is sorry he mentioned it. He thinks my fingers may feel funny due to the cast. But, I kind of find that hard to believe.
What are some of the other symptoms? Has anyone had an MRI for an accurate diagnosis? Anyone have similar occurances? I thought it had to be related to my accident, just too coincidental. The doctor said no, but after reading information here, I see it is possible. I know I just have to watch it and stages are different for everyone. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Good luck and health to all!

Dermal pits

Hi, Dee. To date no one has posted an MRI thread related to
Dupuytren's contractures. If I an wrong, I will be correted.
About "pits" and "nodules," they are more anxiolytic than
debilitating. Chords are intervened when contractures occur
at 30 degrees or more. Dermal pits and/or nodules are considered annoyances or inconveniences. Expert opinion is available from the Doctors at Lariboisiere Hospital in Paris. Treatment seems to focus on limitation of movement
(function) rather thaan anxiety or inconvenience. Take pictures and send them to one or more of the Doctors on the
"List." Dr. Eaton in Florida is an alternative approach.
Start with pictures, and send them to Paris and/or Jupiter.
Proceed from there. Go slow on any "surgery."

Symptoms

Sounds like a "Bible cyst" to me. The solution in the old days was to slam a bible (because it was the heaviest book in the house) on the back of your hand. That ruptures the cyst. Caution....see your doctor before you try this.

NA

Yes, Dr. William Bourland is a very fine hand doctor. I am very happy that more doctors are using NA to release Dupuytren's contractures.
