Radiation for Ledderhose Disease

I recently read an article by "Pub Med" (National Library of Medicine), that discussed a recent trial from 1996 to 2001, that treated Ledderhose Disease with radiation therapy. Author was Strahlenther Onkol, Dec 2003. (Radiation Therapy for Morbus Ledderhose--indication and clinical results)

First two phases of the study have been completed with promising results. Phase three were to start in 2003. Has anyone seen any further results of this radiation study for Ledderhose Disease? If so, please post.

LD and Radiation therapy

I have no knowledge of the study or it's publication;
I am aware of the side effects of Radiation Oncology and
the dose/target implications for adjacent tisues. Typically,
there exists a cost/benefit trade-off between benefit and
damage. Radiaton kills tumors and saves lives at the cost
of otherwise healthy tissue. Life is extended at a cost.
Ledderhose is an annoying and debilitating, non-lethal
malady. Radiation therapy might "stop" it's progression;
at what cost? This is one modality about which I would want much more information before I considered treatment.
Just a personal opinion. Let us get more information.
Collagenase is still being invetigated as a viable option
for LD and PD. Read up on Osteo-radio-necrosis (ORN) if
you want some insight into Radiation treatment and side-effects.
Stage One.
