Scam Artists

Randy, Tom, Jerry,

You are a strange, angry bunch. The only ones you are controlling are yourselves and annoying everyone else. After reading through many of the older postings on this site, I saw numerous messages attacking any and everyone who posts a message supporting surgery (imagine!), questioning NA (how dare they!) or basic boring medical information about dups (how dull!).

My favorite was Randy's attack on someone who solicited input for a survey. Completely uncalled for, but more importantly why? Some interesting comments on email addresses and what happens to those who challenge the NA promoters.

Its a shame that its come to this, but you guys are just a bunch of schoolyard bullies who enjoy attacking and hurting people.

As for the site. There is some good information in and among the balant NA commmericals. But, before you attack me as the newest incarnation of Sean, Gary or whoever - I'm not them, but I know scam artists when I see them.

Interesting

Randy H,
I have really hesitated to get involved with this discussion. I don't think you are understanding what this person has presented. It has nothing to do with the validity of NA or surgery. I think NA is a very viable alternative for anyone to choose and it might be in my future. Surgery might also be in my future.

Hi Sean. I'd rather not be involved in *this* discussion myself. And you are right. I *don't* understand what No Name's beef is. A lot of us feel strongly that we need to take this *very* limited opportunity to discuss and inform others about NA. And.....all points of view should be heard, and then *challenged*. Yes, as you well know, I've engaged in some livery rhetoric from time to time. But in the End, it's verifiable facts and the logic of the merits that will hold sway.

I'm sure you will make the choice of procedure that seems best should the need arise. You know all sides of our options as well as anyone. You and I have both learned a great deal since being here.

Hi Randy and Sean,

Have you spoted the post by Dr. Pess announcing that he is a new NA practitioner? Paris-trained and all. Woo Hoo!

Reflection:

As a regular poster my goal - like others has always been to raise awareness of DC treatment options. Whether it be surgery or NA - both sides were pationate and at times it has sparked heated debates and great divisions but....I think we have all moved towards the middle as we realize that both sides are right - there are times where surgery is the best option, and there are times when NA is the best route....and in some patients both are best but at different stages....it all depends on the individual, their hands, their history....etc...

Dear No Name,

You come to this forum at a time when we have been shaping the face of NA and Surgery much like those who have shaped our nations...we have argued our beliefs - incorporated new facts as time went on - reevaluated - argued late into the night....heck ....I think we've even had a couple of philibusters....hahahhaah....fact...I'm sure of it!

But one this is for sure....we have ALL accomplished a huge about in the last year *because* of all this debating.

For fun lets list some of the things that have been accomplished because of all this debating and talking...

1) patients who have been told they might require amputation have been provided with a) treatment options b) tools with which to evaluate their surgeons skill c) testimonies by people who have had similar cases that were resolved without incident.

2) Sean, he has been a wonderful wall to argue against, he has provided the medical perspective and made us all think, and now...with the spread of NA and the testimonies of posters, we have seen that NA is not for all....aggressive forms of DC may require surgery.

Thanks for staying on board Sean

3) Credentials....our troll's tenacity sparked vigorous debate...through this we formulated the opinion that a pedigree for performing NA is important to protect the NA sufferer.....it has also taught us all what to look for when evaluating a posters words and from all this we have all learned that stalking on the internet is a reality and because of this we must be respectful and respectful when someone posts the name of a doctor.

4) Insurance. Posters have shared claim numbers and company names so their costs get reduced

5) Travel plans...what routes to take, hotels to stay...

4) NICE. We pointed to NICE to Brit patients so they can bring this info to their doctors...adding a bonus to that...one of the posters let everyone know about the possibility of insurance coverage for the procedure if performed in another country.

5) We know about the relation between Frozen Shoulder and DC

6) We know that DC is not limited to those who are over 40 by any stretch of the imagination - and on this vein, PUBMED has a new article about a baby (6 months old) who has been possitively diagnosed with DC.

7) PUBMED

8) Info on researchers has been shared...Dr Gan for example

The list is getting long so I'll let others take over....

That's just the point! Debating is wrong and has led to high tensions and immature behavior. Sharing ideas is a better approach and I encourage everyone to move from *debating* opinions to *sharing* ideas. This is not just a play on words. When you debate you have to defend your position to the end or risk being defeated. When you share ideas, you have the choice to learn something new or decide you don't support this idea.

There has been too much *debating* and attacking on this forum and it has to stop. Upon reading earlier postings, I found others have issued similar appeals (and I found this after submitting my postings) and all have been attacked such I have been. That's a pattern you could plot on a graph and it says alot.

As for the *debate* of NA vs. surgery - that's not the issue here. Sharing ideas, sharing information and showing respect - that's the issue. Always was, always will be. Posting suspect statements about how this doctor or that doctor is incompetent and rude and so on, but come to the light and get NA is immature.

Share ideas. Stop attacking those who question NA or submit "silly" questions (and there are no silly questions) and this forum will be a great place.

Randy, I'll share ideas, but the debates are out.
