Biding my time

I've gone and got a coffee while I wait for No Name to respond....but in the meantime here are some of the other things that have been accomplished over the past year and change....

1) We have attracted the attention of enough people in the medical community that rumblings of NA can be heard through out our nations - NICE is a perfect example it was the society of handsurgeons over there who asked to have NICE evaluate NA...perhaps one of them will pick up on it and the Brits will have NA on their own soil within a couple of years?

2) We have raised awareness to the point that there are now THREE Paris trained handsurgeons, Dr. Zidel (Florida), Dr. Eaton (Florida), and Dr. Pess (New Jersey), and two other surgeons, Dr Denkler (California), and Dr. Bourland (Tennesse) who perform NA. Dr. Denkler has stated here that he is making arrangements to go to Paris - wonderful and Dr. Pess says he was encouraged to Dr. Eaton as they were classmates.

As an aside...I think it is important that when discussing NA with Newbies - we don't push one particular doctor or website because it is habit....it won't help the spread of NA if our md's think there is only one doctor performing it.

Now I'll post this and check to see of No Name has something they wish to 'discuss' about DC.

See you later.

Still waiting for No Name to Respond

No response from No Name to my request yet....so I'll continue rambling.....

Talking vs debating vs arguing vs sharing....sorry sharing is for a doctors office or group therapy....when nations get built....the strong debate heatedly because the points are so important...and 'yes' we have been building a nation...we have been shaping opinions, and had our own opinions shaped...

At this point....I suspect much of the hard work has been done and was thinking that maybe it is time to consider a foundation of sorts for DC sufferers...a charitable organization...like they have for all other diseases....if it ever became possible....I'd like to see a diner in honor of Dr. L.....big banquet actually....he deserves it...he has been steadfast in his conviction for all these years and this has brought another DC treatment to North America.....I would love to see our new NA practitioners there too...they also deserve a hand...they too are pioneers .... no small thing in the medical community.

Consider it all...are we ready? Or will we be ready sooner then we think?

No Name

Anon,
I am actually surprised that "no name" jumped into this. I assure you that I am not "no name". It would be interesting to know who it is, and why now, and what his/her experience is with DC? But, you know and I know that there has been a coordinated attack on me, or anyone, who has had a good experience with surgery. This was not debate, it was an attack. It was an attack even when people presented information to ponder from PUBMED or any other scholarly presentations. There wasn't a desire to learn more, it was not a debate, it was a desire to attack. It was an attack when surgeons were labeled as butchers, greedy etc. by many of you. Or that there was this giant conspiracy of the medical/and or insurance community against DC sufferers etc. If you consider that debate, it was the very lowest form.
Hopefully some have matured on this forum, we'll see.

Get Over it Gary

Gary/Sean, you've done your fair share of insulting and attacking others on this forum. You reek of the same hypocrisy and cowardice characteristic of 'No Name'.

You have no high ground to stand on.

and

'Coordinated attack'?????

What proof do you have of this?

I know you have none, of course, but feel that your unbridled allegations(perhaps indicative of paranoia) should not go unchallenged.

Sean

Sean has a good point. The discussion has matured to the point that many of us accept that surgery may be require in some very difficult DD cases.

Attacks

toM,

You are among the attack artists and have attacked me on a number of occasions and I can see other reason why you are on this site other than to attack others. In your attacks on me, you call me a coward and demand my email address. I cannot think of any reason for this request other than to harass me. Why do you want my email address? Someone has used email to harass others on this site before. Enough of the names. Enough of the attacks.

As to Sean's question as to why I'm in this fray. I developed an aggressive form of dups a few years ago and even with all the noise on this site, there is a lot of good information to be found here and I have researching dups quite a bit over the last several years. I had surgery nearly a year ago, but face a long future with this disease.

I am also in this fray because I have been accused of being Sean, Gary, Frances, "the troll" and a few other choice names. But, I'm not any of them and I found that similar attacks have been directed to others and that's just a shame. It should be amusing, but as I share a rare disease and this site has good information, I cannot stand by and be attacked and not respond.

The only reasonable approach is to point out the attackers, but not become engaged in their games. All they want to do is hurt others while claiming the high ground. In the end, you cannot have it both ways.

Future of DC

Sheesh, went away for a while and all hell broke loose.

Could everyone put away their hurt feelings and think of the future? A he-said, she-said thread is not going to help anyone. The debating on this forum are no more muddy or nasty then the last election - that is what makes democracy great. We have, like I said, essentially been nation building. It is our talking, debating, arguing, and yes - namecalling, that has helped keep us here and *thinking* - without that experience, we would be no where -so - now there can be peace.

How can we move forward with explaining DC treatment options for patients when they come? Is it time for a proper organization? Will this help legitamize the work of the NA practitioners and attract more?

As I see it Anon is the big trouble maker here. He/she is always baiting someone. This Anon should calm down and mellow out.
