verapamil

I tried it for Peyronie's for 9 months and it did little or nothing. To my knowledge, no poster on this forum has ever reported success with Dupuytren's. What did your prescribing MD have to say about it?

I'm a retired doctor and although expensive, it's worth a try. I'm not counting on it. If it halts or markedly slows down the process, I'll consider it working. The company states that they have had both sucesses and failures with it. They claim that people who use it at least 6 mos will see some positive results.

Thanks for the previous posters response. Good to hear from failures as well as successes.

My prescribing Dr. knew nothing about it and said "let's give it a try". I've been using it now for 2 weeks and I can tell you the lump in my hand is smaller and I can now lay my hand flat on the table. What will happen after this only time will tell. I will be sure to keep everyone posted. As I said in the original post, my prescription was $44 and was 16% strength.

I'd lover others to try it and see if it works.

I find it hard to believe that it could have done so much in 2 weeks. PDL suggests that several months are necessary and even then they waffle as to whether you'd see actual improvement in range of motion. Keep us posted.

I've researched transdermal verapamil online a little, and what I've found does not inspire confidence in the miraculous claims of some who have posted to this topic. Almost every Google hit on 'transdermal verapamil' leads to one commercial site; one is a scientific study undertaken by member of the Urology dept. of the U. of Iowa medical school showing that verapamil can't work for Peyronie's because it isn't absorbed by the tissue.
