Hello

I hope perhaps my meager contribution may help someone. I have bilateral DD and carpal, and plantar fasciitis
and Osteo Arthritis.
Crimeny I think I am falling apart. I see my sister is also a poster on here and she is the one who advised me
to visit here and read. Last year I managed to convince a local oncology clinic to treat me with IMIRT on both
of my palms. I can say that it was a roller coaster ride. Mainly because I failed to check my newly issued insurance
booklet and the clinic neglected to pre authorize the treatment with the insurance carrier. When I got the bill,
I was fearful that I would have to work several more years to pay the doctor bill for the treatment. Long story
shortened, they renegotiated the bill for me and I wound up paying pennies on the dollar of the actual billing. This
turned out to be comparable to what my out of pocket expenditure would have been if my insurance would have
covered the procedure. I was so grateful that this happened.

F.Y.I the clinic is
Rocky Mountain Oncology
Casper Wyoming and the
caregiver was Doctor Tobin.

I was not and am not currently fully educated on all the nuances of this affliction and it's treatment. I watched
my younger sister go thru the NA procedure and I cringed then...and witnessed it's ineffictiveness as her
nodules returned and contraction has re-occured. She recently went to Duetchland and is soon to return
for a second round of RT on her feet.

I went ahead and consented for the IMIRT and that was in early spring 2010. I have recently had with the
turn of the seasons a presence of pain in my palms and pinky fingers and index fingers. This pain is present
upon awakening from a nights sleep. I also wear Carpal Tunnel splints on both hands to keep my wrists straight
as I have a propensity to curl them in my sleep... This pain makes me unsure if it is DD or osteo arthritis pain
which I have also been diagnosed with. I am having such a battle with my PF in the feet and the constant
daily exposure to the concrete work floor from my job, that the DD has taken a back seat.

It seems a race to see which affliction will be the first to reduce my ability to be a productive member of Society.
Anyhow, Hello members.

Re: Hello

Welcome to the site!

I have active DD also and just returned from Hamburg myself from my first round of RT treatment. I am and have been in retail for almost 30 years and like you, pound the concrete floor daily. I went through the same thing with my feet, about 15 years ago I had a bi-latteral Plantar fasciotomy and it helped me immensly! I do not believe that I could still work on this floor daily if I had not had the surgery. It was a very easy procedure and I had a fast recovery. I would strongly suggest that you look into it.

Best of luck to you!
Michael

Re: Hello

Thanks Mike I did not disclose all the info. I have PF and heel bone spurs.
I have had 2 series of Automoulous stem cell injections and am trying
to take a more conservative approach to this issue rather than
surgery as I read and read and find one horror story after another
about that procedure. I have 32 months and 10 days till I can retire
but who is counting. It truely is a race...will I make it? or PF,DD I won't.
